Dear Opponents of Concrete Crusher Pollution in SW Hunt County,

We wanted to share a quick but encouraging update in our ongoing effort to Crush the Crusher and ask your help in raising our final $7,925 by July 10 to stop the proposed Highway 276 concrete crusher operation.

Since sending our last email, this amazing community has responded with incredible generosity, and we are grateful to report that $4,475 has already been raised toward the final $12,400 needed to fully fund the last, critical phase of our lawsuit. That means we now need to raise just $7,925 more by July 10 to ensure we are best prepared for our July 28 court hearing in Austin.

The most recent legal brief that our attorney Adam Friedman and his legal team filed in response to the Texas Attorney General’s brief can be viewed at https://www.crushthecrusher.com/ . This filing represents months of legal research, expert testimony, strategy, and careful preparation, and we hope it gives you a tangible sense of the high-level work being done on behalf of our community by one of Texas’ leading environmental attorneys.

First and foremost — THANK YOU to everyone who has given, prayed, encouraged, and stood with us. To date, 142 contributors have helped invest more than $86,000 in this battle to protect Union Valley. Gifts in this final lawsuit oral hearing phase alone have ranged from $20 to $1,500, reminding us that every contribution truly matters. We want everyone in our community and clean air supporters everywhere to share in this effort and in the success we are praying to achieve together. The truth is, none of us could have individually invested over $86,000 to preserve the healthy quality of life we cherish in Union Valley — but together, we are doing exactly that! Every gift matters. Every prayer matters. Every kind note matters. We are continually humbled by the generosity and resolve of this community and of everyone anywhere willing to help stand up against TCEQ’s unlawfully risking public health. As a reminder, the funds already raised cover the legal briefs and filings that have brought us this far.

What we still need to raise is $7,925 by July 10 for Adam Friedman to personally prepare and represent us at oral arguments in court on July 28.

Standing together, this community has already driven away the first crusher operator and kept concrete crushing out of Union Valley for more than 2½ years. Now in the home stretch, through this lawsuit we can now finally potentially reverse the Hwy. 276 crusher permit and ensure that TCEQ implements its legal duty to vigorously protect public health in Union Valley from this industrial threat.

If you have not yet had an opportunity to give—or feel able to help again—we would be deeply grateful for any amount. Whether it is $10, $20, $50, $100, or more, every contribution helps close the remaining gap of $7,925

As we approach July 4th Independence Day, we are reminded that freedom is never free — it is often costly and requires sacrifice, perseverance, and the courage to step up and stand for what we value. Protecting the quality of life, health, and future of Union Valley also comes at a cost. We know this has been a long road, and many are understandably tired. But we truly believe this is the moment todig deep, persevere, and finish strong. Together, we can do what none of us can do alone.

6-15-26 Legal Brief Filing:

The TCEQ has granted Dry Creek Materials LLC the permit to operate a concrete crushing plant. The effort is underway to fight this permit with a Motion to Overturn.

We just wanted to take a moment to say a great big THANK YOU to everyone who turned out for the meeting with TCEQ.  We were absolutely blown away how many people showed up and by the fantastic, impassioned remarks that were given and thoughtful questions that were asked.

This truly has been a community effort and we are so grateful for everyone who has pitched in to help stop this.  Thank you!!
