The permit allows for a maximum 528,000 tons of “Concrete Crushing activity” to occur. So, since there is no existing source of “Concrete” on-site, that necessitates the trucking “In” of raw, busted up slabs of concrete from wherever. So, to have an end result of 528,000 tons, you must have 528,000 tons of slabs to begin with. 528,000 +528,000 = 1,056,000 tons coming in/leaving property (assuming all is sold/no “stockpiles”).
Tractor trailer trucks (25 ton payload)are the predominate mode of movement in the metroplex, along with Tri-axles (18 ton payload), and Tandems (15 tons). The trucks bringing in raw, concrete slabs use what are commonly called “demolition” trailers and typically, that’s all they are used for (due to extra heavy beds, gaps, leaks, etc). So, these trucks will not usually be the trucks carrying the “finished product” away. Figuring an “Average” of 20 tons per truck: 1,056,000 / 20 = 52,800 Trucks per year, assuming full capacity.
